Winter at the Hall

With colder weather approaching, it's time for Gihon Valley Hall to button itself up for the winter. This means we won't be hosting any events at the hall until the springtime thaw. At least with our new heat pumps we were able to comfortably host fall dances, birthday parties, and the annual wreath lighting ceremony.

We'd love to keep the building open year round, and we're on the path to making that possible. Thanks to a Bruhn Grant from Preservation Trust of Vermont, in the coming months we'll be replacing or restoring all of the building's original windows and installing storm windows to keep in the heat. We're also looking into grants to help fund installation of a boiler to give the building enough heating power to warm up both main levels year round.

If you'd like to get involved with our efforts, you can always make a donation or join our monthly committee meeting, which will be happening via Zoom during the winter months.
