The Harvest is In

Just in time for the season's first frosty nights, locals brought their best home grown vegetables and canned goods to the Gihon Valley Hall for our first ever Blue Ribbon Harvest Contest.

With the county fairs called off this year due to COVID, we thought a mini agricultural fair would be a fun way to keep the Grange spirit of our old building alive while giving people a chance to pop in at the hall.

We recruited former Lamoille County Field Days judge George Cook to evaluate the produce, award the ribbons and choose our best-in-show entry.

The grand prize ribbon (and $100!) went to Emily Neilsen of Hyde Park for her picture perfect pumpkin.

During the exhibit on Saturday September 19th, committee members also hosted a pie sale to raise funds for the ongoing renovations of the hall. Every single last pie sold out! And when you look at these beauties, it's no surprise.

Thank you one and all who visited our exhibit, entered veggies, and donated or bought a pie!
